NORTH CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Mrs. Prudence (Sawyer) Kelley of North Chelmsford, Mass., died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell, Mass.
She was born in Swanton, Vt., on Dec. 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Keith and Madeline (Proulx) Sawyer. She attended St. Anne Academy in Swanton with the class of 1965, and was a graduate of Burlington High School; she later attended Burlington College, also in Vermont. She was employed over the years with General Electric in Burlington, Dr. Robert Lynam's office in Colchester and most recent at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, as well as the Church of The Nativity in Swanton. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved animals and supported their humane treatment with her membership in the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Besides her loving husband, John, she is survived by a son, Fritz Hubacher of Crescent City, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Susan Sawyer of Fletcher, Vt.; a sister and brother - in-law, Peggy and Norman Vincelette of Chesterfield, N.Y.; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and close family friends.
She was the loving mother of the late Keith Sawyer Morgan of Swanton, who died in 1968; and Annmary Morgan McKinney of N. Chelmsford, Mass., who died in 2000.
Visiting hours will be Friday, 6 to 9 p.m. in the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, and Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. in Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, Vt.
Her funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Kidder Memorial Home followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in The Church of the Nativity in Swanton. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Swanton.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854.
