Death of James Heburn
James Heburn died at his home on Pleasant avenue in this city on Saturday
at the age of 87 years. The deceased had been disabled by rheumatism for
the past 50 years. About twelve years ago he suffered a stroke of
paralysis, his left side being affected. Six weeks ago he received the
second stroke which rendered him entirely speechless and helpless. He
remained in that condition till his death. The deceased was born in
Vermont. In his youth he was a sailor. At the age of about 20 years he came
to this city, and afterward resided here. He leaves four children, Mrs.
Arthur Van Dyke and Miss Mary Heburn, George Heburn of this city and Harvey
Heburn of McConnellsville. The funeral occurred this afternoon.
