Thank You Very Much Mary Jane for the lookup . The McDonell family I am researching were part of a very large group of Highland Scottish who arrived in NY in 1773 on Ship Pearl 1773 , and most settled as tenant farmers on Sir John Johnson's Kingsborough Patent NY . An exception was my Donald McDonell [ killed 6 August 1777 , at Battle of Oriskany ] father of the infant Ann / Nancy McDonell who's baptism I am seeking . This Donald's father was "Spanish " John McDonell who had purchased nearly 500 acres on the Charlotte River . This morning I found an online item , which said this Spanish John McDonell settled at Fergusonville , so I must now concentrate my efforts on that area [ if indeed it is still known as Fergusonville ] . Ah , the joy of the hunt is what makes genealogy so rewarding . Thanks Again . J.
