Charles F. Craig, Retired Policeman
Charles F. Craig, 80, of 356 North Drive, Greece, a retired Rochester policeman, died yesterday (Nov.4, 1965) in Highland Hospital.
Mr. Craig, a native Rochesterian, joined the Police Bureau in 112 and was assigned to night patrol in the Clinton Avenue South-Monroe Avenue District.
Later, he was transferred to motorcycle duty and in 1923 was appointed driver for Police Inspector James Collin. Mr. Craig retired in 1933.
He was a member of the Police Locust Club and Police Veterans Association.
Surviving Mr. Craig are his widow, Ruth, two nieces and a nephew.

Policeman Charles F. Craig of the Franklin Street Station at 12:35 this morning saved Miss Gertrude Lewis, 23, of 5 Gorham Street, from choking to death on a pill prescribed by her dentist for treatment of soreness caused by an extracted tooth.
The policeman was sent to miss Lewis' home in response to an ambulance all. Arriving before Genesee Hospital ambulance, Craig resorted to first aid methods, dislodging the pill. The woman's condition did not necessitate her going to the hospital, police reported.

Funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the home. Internment will be made in the family lot at Mount Hope Cemetery
