The best advice that i can give is this. I did see these in person in the basement civil actions area of the county clerk's office. This was in the 1970s, and the divorce that I sought was in the 1860s. I could see the list of filings but not the actual case transcripts. Still, things may have changed. Call or contact the civil actions area of the Monroe County Clerk's office and see what the 2017 rules are. Because of the sensitivity of the cases and strict NY state privacy laws what you can see might be limited. Usually the good juicy stuff (pardon my flippant attitude) is found in the newspapers! Check the newspaper index to see if it's mentioned. I did find one of mine mentioned as a divorce, and looking in all 5 papers of the time, four said divorce and the 5th gave all the good details. Go figure. http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=963
