Thanks so much for replying, but I have not been able to find what I'm looking for on Family Search. The records you mention are all the filed deed records, which I have found both in person in Geneseo, and on Family Search. It doesn't look like the "real estate transfers" were microfilmed. From what I can tell, at least in Livingston County, NY, there seems to be a difference between land sales (deeds) and "real estate transfers". Apparently, when a person dies intestate, any real estate does not go through normal deed recording, but instead is "transferred" to the spouse/heirs. These records are not found in the usual deed books. I was in Geneseo years ago, and vaguely remember being shown a transfer book, but too early in my research, did not understand that I needed it. It does not look like it was microfilmed.
As to the second part of my search, I have not found that land surveys were microfilmed either.
