I sent this to the Livingston Co. Mailing List but wasn't sure you received it.
I found only one reference to B. C. Nichols, but hope the following may give you some clues.
From History of York by Mary R. Root:
pg. 25 - Mrs. Wm. Bow's name was Phebe Nichols.
pg. 43 - 1840. On March 12th Niel Stewart and Jane Nichols were married. They had ten children: Margaret married Homer McVean, Jane married George K. Whitney, Eliza married John Sinclair, Helen married Edward Caldwell, Agnes married Geoge D. Smith, Mary married George A. Donnan, Alex N. married Emma Johnson, Chas. N. married Anna Blanch Bow, Wm. N. married Margaret Johnston, Niel, unmarried, died 1891.
pg 64 - 1877. February 9, John Spittal, teacher at No. 7 had a spelling bee. Marsh Nichols of Piffard and James Nolan of No. 7 were captains. Nolan's side won.
pg. 70 - Census of Families of 1825: Asa Nichols, 4 males, 2 females.
