Has anyone had experience locating death certificates for the Town of Fluvanna in Chautauqua county? (~1891).
I found the index to one of my ancestors in the New York State Death Index (Sealy, Martha Ml; 22 Oct Fluvanna 44051) and was wondering if a local town/county would have these certificates.
I believe Fluvanna is now part of the Town of Elicott, but I did not know who (Elicott, Chautauqua county, the historical society?) would still maintain these records.
I may be able to get them through New York State....but as it is over 100 years old, it looks like it would be pricy and would take several months. If anyone has experience with obtaining these, your input would be helpful.
