Obituary for Marvin Harvey, Sr.

Marvin Harvey, Sr., 73, a resident of Bosque for the past four years died Tuesday [January 18] at an Albuquerque hospital following a short illness. He was a retired plastic technician at Sandia Corp. and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Belen.
He is survived by his widow, Viola, of the family home; two sons, Marvin Jr. of Bosque and Jack of Las Cruces; one daughter, Lila Mitchell of California; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Melvin Heineken, Edgewood, NM; and one sister, Esther Lybroger, Grove, Okla.
Mr. Harvey’s remains will lie in state today from 2 to 5 p.m. in the South Chapel of Romero Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Romero Funeral Home Main Chapel with Tommy Cordova of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating. Interment will follow in the Terrace Grove Cemetery, Belen.
Pall bearers will be Taylor Moffett, Jr., Taylor Moffett, Sr., Kevin Oney, Dennis Rainey, Earl Traylor and Emerson Oney.
Romero Funeral Home of Belen is in charge of arrangements.
I went to the Terrace Grove cemetery and took photos of Marvin Harvey’s tombstone (see attachment) and photos of the people adjacent to his grave. Those individuals are:
- Alfred James Seery (1941 – [no death date]) and Evan James Seery (1966-2005) – to the left of Marvin’s grave
- Reno R. Gallegos (1947 – “son vanished in 1985”) – to the right of Marvin’s grave
