I'm researching my Martinez family of Tierra Amarilla, Rio Arriba, New Mexico. My Great Grandfather is Jose R. Martinez (b. 1851) and Great Grandmother Maria Ascencion (b. 1862). My Grandfather was Ubaldo F. Martinez (b. 1900). Though a little sketchy, his siblings were: Jose Ysac (b. 1879), Jose Rafael (b. 1881), Maria Horacia (b. 1881), Maria Soledad (b. 1882), Jose R. Jr. (b. 1885), Felipe Jesus (b. 1887), Chonita Rufina (b. 1888), Hyginia Fulgencia (b. 1890), Halina (b. 1892), Margarita (b. 1892), Isaac Alejandro (b. 1894), Asuncion (b. 1895), Acencion (b. 1897), Felijita (b. 1897), Ascencion (b. 1898), Beatriz (b. 1899), Ubaldo Fidel (b. 1900), Ophelia Lucia (b. 1902), Tomas Lorenzo (b. 1904), Horacio Romulo (b. 1906), Oricio (b. 1906), Maria Stella (b. 1907), and Estella (b. 1909). The 1910; Census Place: Tierra Amarilla, Rio Arriba, New Mexico; Roll: T624_916; Page: 10A; Enumeration District: 0164; FHL microfilm: 1374929 recorded Maria Ascencion having given birth to nineteen children and at the time of the census eleven were living. I have listed twenty-three children, four more than the nineteen recorded in the census. So there are some children that don't belong to this family included. There also is another family by the name of Jose R. and Ascencion Martinez and I have had a very difficult time discriminating information between these families. I'm hoping there is someone else having the same problem and that they would like to collaborate together.
