Canuto C. Martos was called home by his Lord and Savior in Las Cruces, NM on November 08, 2009. He was surrounded by his children. He was born in Los Angeles, California on June 16, 1926.

Canuto married Rosalia Melendez of Camargo Chihuahua Mexico in 1953. They had eleven children and were happily married for thirty-eight years.

Canuto was a loyal member and a minister of the Apostolic Church where he worshipped.

He is survived by his children, Rachel Martos of Las Cruces, Rose Martos-Mendoza of Phoenix, AZ, Leonarda Martos of Phoenix, AZ, Rev. Alfred Martos of Phoenix, AZ, Elva Martos-Betancourt of Phoenix, AZ, Sallie Martos-Miller of Richmond, VA, Alice Martos-Burkett of Richmond, VA, Arturo Martos of Phoenix, AZ, and Steve Martos of Phoenix, AZ. There are twenty-two grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Our Father was preceded in death by his wife Rosalia, his daughter Olaya, and his son Armando Martos.

Visitation will be held at The Apostolic Church on 902 Alamo in Las Cruces on November 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. Final viewing will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 also at the Apostolic Church with the funeral service to begin at 10 a.m. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Rev. Willie Roman Sr. will officiate over the services. Rev. Willie Roman was a long time Pastor of our father, he was a Pastor first, a friend second and a Brother in Christ always.

Pallbearers will be, Alfred Martos Sr., Arturo Martos, Steve Martos, John Betancourt, Anthony Miller, Enoc Duenas, Jeremiah Mendoza, and Alfred Martos Jr.

Our father was part of a very large family whom he loved very much Leonardo of Phoenix- deceased, Luis of Camargo Mexico- deceased, Joaquin of Camargo Mexico-deceased, Roberto of Las Cruces-deceased, Gustavo of Camargo Mexico, Francisco of Las Cruces, Jose of Del City, Texas, Esperanza of Anthony, Magdalena of Las Cruces-deceased, Calista of Camargo Mexico, and Estella of Camargo, Mexico.

Our father was a great man of great convictions, a man of honor and a man of his word. He was a great son, husband, father and a great brother; our father loved all those around him because he had the love of God in him. It was his desire that every soul come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. He was a great example to his entire family. We will miss him dearly.
