FELISA A. TORRES, 85, of Las Cruces left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 19, 1921 in Emporia, Kansas to Porfirio and Julia Tavares Aguirre. Mrs. Torres was a homemaker and a communicant at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church.
Survivors include seven sons, Ricardo, Jose, Juan, Laurencio and Marcelino Torres all of Doña Ana, Manuel Torres of Fresno, California and Seferino Torres of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Rita and Maria Torres both of Doña Ana; five brothers, Mundo Aguirre of San Fernando, California, Jose, Fausto, Jesus and Silvano Aguirre; four sisters, Eulalia, Maria, Rafaela and Alejandra Aguirre all of Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. Other survivors include seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesus Torres; one brother, Marcelino Aguirre and one sister, Quintina Aguirre.
Visitation for Mrs. Torres will begin Friday, February 16, 2007 in Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey in Doña Ana where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass Saturday, February 17, 2007 in the same church with Reverend Miguel Macaya officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Doña Ana Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ricardo, Seferino, Marcelino, Antonio, Laurencio Jr., and Marcelino Torres, Jr.
