Lorie, I'm sorry I confused you. Yes, I meant in Soccoro Co. I don't know why I put Lincoln. Too late at night (or too early morning!) posting.

I just have not noticed any on-line (as US GenWeb) for the cemetery at Magdalena. I was wondering if there was someone or some service that keeps records on the cemetery.

As I stated my grandmother and two uncles died there in 1918 at early ages from the epidemic at that time. My dad, about 60 or 70 years later put up stones there for them. He took pictures of the stones, so I have some pictures of them. I don't think he and someone he visited with there knew just exactly which grave was which although it was knowledgeable that those were the correct graves.

I had planned on teaching at Datal in 1990, but things didn't work out since my home was so far away and I would have to drive several hundred miles to get home (I live up near Clayton, NM in Union Co). My husband also has family living in and around Pie Town as well as a number of relatives buried there (Weathers and Steele families). I was planning on going there this year for their Pie Town festival, but the date had passed before I thought about it.

My father's mother was Eliza (Leavitt) Thomas. The two young men were Earl and Perry Thomas. Eliza was married to Fred Perry Thomas. My dad, the youngest of 6 children was F. (only) P. (only) Thomas aka "Buster". He was 3 years old when they died.

If you happen to know if there are any records available there, it would be nice to have copies of them. If you are that way sometime and would like to check that would be great. I would be very glad to have a copy of anything there might be available (who knows if there was much back then). I would be happy to pay you for any expenses.

When I said Kathryn had (I think) family that lived around here, I meant in my hometown area. And yes, she is very nice. I'm so glad I met here when she went on line searching for information about the people buried at the cemetery at Pie Town.

Thanks, Sue Ricketson
