I found a document date May 1759 from New Jersey Supreme Court #21098 the King v McClure Sussex Assault. In the document it references a John McClure who assaulted the High Sheriff of Sussex, Peter Schmuck.
John McClure is listed as from Mansfield Wood House township. This township was formed in 1754. Sussex was formed in 1753 from Morris County. John McClure does NOT appear on 1752 list of Free holders in Morris County.
Does anyone have any idea of a village that might have been in Mansfield Wood House Township in 1755-1759?
I realize that it became part of Warren County in 1824 but that time period is too late for what I want to find.
I am hoping to find a history of a village in Mansfield Wood House that might reference other occupations than farming.
