RAYMOND -- Helen M. (Funcannon) Peters, 79, of Englewood Drive, died July 5, 2004, at her home.
She was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Boston and grew up in Jamaica Plain, Mass.
In 1948, she entered the Quincy City Hospital nursing program and graduated in 1949. From 1950 to 1963 she worked as a private nurse. From 1963 to 1971 she was the school nurse at Boston School for the Deaf for both the children and employees. From 1971 to 1978 she served as charge nurse, supervisor, and director of nurses at Blue Hills Convalescent Home in Stoughton, Mass. She also worked at the psychiatric ward at Mass. State Hospital in Bridgewater.
She had resided with her son in Raymond for the past three years.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Edith Peters Adams, in 1984.
Family members include one son, Glenn S. Peters of Raymond; one sister, Gail Funcannon of Easton, Mass.; three grandchildren.
SERVICES: Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond.
A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Bridgewater, Mass.
Flowers are acceptable.
