Thelma Burnice Gilliam of Rt. 1, Potosi, Mo., passed away April 12, 1985 at her home, at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 9 days. She was born November 3, 1930 at Quaker, Mo., to the late James William and Zoe (Yount) Turnbough.
Thelma was united in marriage to Buford Gilliam September, 1950 in Potosi and two sons were born to this union.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Homer Turnbough and one sister, Mildred Turnbough.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her loving and devoted husband, Buford Gilliam of Rt. 1, Potosi; two sons, James Dean Gilliam and Timothy Lee Gilliam, bot of Rt. 1 Potosi; four brothers, Clyde and Herbert Turnbough, both of Rt. 2, Potosi, Elza Turnbough of Melville and Clifford Turnbough of Imperial; two sisters, Gladys Stotler of Arnold and Goldie Abney of Festus; two grandsons, Donald Ray and Shawn Leroy Gilliam of Steelville, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted 1 P.M. Monday, April 15 at the Emmaus Baptist Church at Lower Indian Creek with Rev. James Latham officiating. Interment was in the Lower Indian Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
Serving as pallbearers were: Larry Turnbough, Danny Turnbough, Dennis Turnbough, Bill Abney, Jerry Stotler, Tommy Beers, Bob Gardner and Wayne Stotler.
