Mrs. George Qualls of 404 Lincoln Street, Desloge, died in Bonne Terre Hospital, Tuesday, August 29, 1961, aged 32 years 11 months 11 days.
The former Miss Freida Gurlean Lyerla, she was born in Alto Pass, Ill., September 18, 1928, a daughter of Leland and Myrtle (Carpenter) Lyerla. She was married on May 3, 1947 to George Qualls of Desloge, who survives with their two sons, George Dennis, aged 12, and Russell Lynn, 7.
She also leaves her parents, residents of Illinois and the following brothers and sisters, Donald, Victor, Harold, Herschel, James, Curtis, Sherrie, and Bonnie Ruth, all of the home; Thelma (Mrs. Martin) Skaggs of Flat River, and Shelba (Mrs. William) Vandergriff of Peoria, Ill. Other relatives and many friends also mourn her untimely passing.
Mrs. Qualls was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, particularly in the young people's work; was a past president of the Desloge P.T.A., and was also interested and worked hard for the Presbyterian Home in Farmington.
Her body is in state at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 1, at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Flat River, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. William Montgomery. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
