There is a Racine identified as Francois Racine dob: 08/26/1793 born in Laprairie, Quebec and married an Indian named Marguerite in Portage, Missouri on 06/02/1819. Francois Racine lived in Peoria, Illinois from 1785 to 1812 and in Portage, Missouri from 1812 to 1835.

His children are listed as follows:

Francois dob:?? married Marie Anne Puche, 12/11/1839 Portage; Joseph married Francois Mottier 10/20/1826, Portage, remarried 02/26/1838 Marcelline Lebeau. Marie Louise dob:? had a child out of wedlock named Marie Louise Racine born 08/01/1827, Portage, Missouri, Charles married a Brigitte Daniel Jolibois.... Augustin dob: unknown, died: 05/19/1827. Jean Baptiste married Teheres St. Jean 08/16/1844. Franocis Antoine born 08/06/1820 married Victoire Viale 08/16/1844. Philippe born 10/06/1824-no further information. Edouard dob: 06/18/1826. Marguerite dob: 11/03/1828 married Joseph Prince 09/27/1842. Marie born 11/08/1829 and Alphonse born 04/17/1831. Also, Francois and a group of his friends was defended by Abraham Lincoln. In the fall of 1812, Captain Thomas Craig Military - Territory ordered that the village be burned and all its habitants to leave without a formal process. Francois and his family found refuge in Portage des Sioux. On 12/13/1813, thirteen habitants of Peoria sued and their lawyer was none other than Honest Abe!!!!!!!!
