Thank you for your message to me. I have an old picture taken ca. 1910-1912 showing my grandfather William Newton Cox's sister, Ava Jane Cox. Ava was identified as the young girl standing beside two older male and female adults. We always thought they were her parents, Sarah L. Foster Cox and Charley A. Cox but Sarah was deceased just after the census of 1910 in Arkansas. The age of Ava looks as if she is about 15 which would make the older lady not be her mother. (Her mother was verified as dying in 1910-1911.)
Could you send me an email with your email address on it so I can send you a copy of this picture to see if you recognize the man standing beside the woman?
If this is not Sarah L. it might be a Cox relative since noone in my family knows who the elderly folks are for sure. I was hoping you might identify either one as Cox relative.
I do not know if we are related to Alfred Cox. Ancestry.com testing is different from Family Tree Dna where my Cox folks have tested. I think they are compatible but maybe someone on this forum can tell us how to blend the results...
Charley A. Cox has two matches on the Cox line tests and one is the family of Pleasant Cox who was in Ralls and Marion co. MO.
Also, my Cox cousin said his grandfather went to work in Nebraska about 1910 for some reason and sent a postcard home showing Nebraska wheat fields... Then, his grandfather came back from Nebraska and lived in sw MO. until he moved to Augusta Arkansas to raise his children. We have plenty of pics of the grandfathers but need verification of this older couple. Can you tell me what happened to your Permelia's brother, Charley? Thank you for your help!
