Naomi Sue (Cain) Brisco, 76, of Olive Branch, MS, formerly of Sullivan, MO and St. Louis, MO, went to a better place on Saturday, March 23, 2013. She died peacefully in her sleep.
Naomi was born April 11, 1936 in Sullivan, MO to Carmen Etola Martin Cain and Leslie Cain. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and her son, Douglas William Brisco.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Negial L. Brisco of Olive Branch, MS; her daughter, Ginny Brisco Willis of Southaven, MS; and six grandsons; Nick Willis of Olive Branch; Drew Willis of Olive Branch; Zach Willis of Southaven, MS; Matt Willis of Southaven, MS; Codey Dowling of Houston, TX and David McAlexander, USMC.
Naomi is also survived by three sisters; Frances Weber of St. Louis, MO; Elneda Manion of St. James, MO; and Peggy Prichard of Malden, MO; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Naomi was an active member of Nesbit church of Christ. She was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked in geriatric healthcare many years. Naomi earned her R.N. at Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, MO in 1957 and her B.S. from Drury College in Springfield, MO in 1960. She taught nursing at Deaconess Hospital and Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis. Naomi had worked as a nursing home administrator at privately owned nursing homes in the St. Louis area.
Naomi was a volunteer with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Dept., was a fire commissioner for DeSoto county and a substitute teacher with DeSoto county schools.
A memorial service was held at Nesbit church of Christ, Hernando, MS, on April 20, 2013.
