Raymond Lester Richardson of St Clair was born May 26, 1905, at Elvins, MO, son of the late Christopher Richardson and Mary Jane Stringer Richardson. On January 19, 1929, he was united in marriage to Millie R Thompson and eight children came to bless this union. Ray departed this life on January 3, 1991, having reached the age of 85 years, 7 months, and 7 days.
He is survived by three sons, Gar Richardson and wife Margaret of Advance, MO, Paul Richardson and wife Betty of Waterloo, IL, and Ray J Richardson and wife Shirley of Washington, MO; four daughters, Elma Grotha and husband Walter, of Manchester, MO, Katherine Adams and husband Jack of St Clair, Patricia Mueller and husband John of Villa Ridge, and Linda May and husband Dennis of St Clair; one sister, Leila Hirsh of Florissant, MO; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mille on June 16, 1990; one daughter, Mary Ellen Donaldson; two brothers, Arthur and Earl Richardson; two sisters Ethel Moss and Lorraine Schroeder; two grandchildren,Jeff Mueller and Stephen Richardson.
Ray was a metal polisher by trade, having worked for Missouri Equipment Company of St Louis, a kitchen equipment manufacturer. He retired from the company after many years of employment. He was a member of Metal Polishers, Buffers, Platers and Helpers International Union AFL-CIO Local 13. Ray was an outgoing person who enjoyed fishing and was active member of the Meramec C.B.Club. Some time ago, Ray professed h is faith in Christ and accepted our Lord as his Savior.
A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather uncle, cousin, and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held January 5, 1991 at Russell Colonial Chapel in St Clair with Rev Raymond Laramore officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens near Union.
