Mrs. William Macke, 70 years old, died at the family home in Jackson Monday. Mrs. Macke was born at Burfordville on November 26, 1890, and lived in Jackson since 1938. Frieda was the daughter of August and Helen Nagel Biester. She and Mr. Macke were married at Immanuel church on November 2, 1913 by Rev. F. H. Rudi. They farmed in the Gordonville community a number of years.
The rites will be at Immanuel Church today. Rev. Theodore Schmidt will be in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery at Tilsit.
Surviving besides Mr. Macke are two daughters, Mrs. T.A. Rachilla of St. Louis and Mrs. Erlis Penrod of Jackson, five sons: Arnold Macke of Jackson, Ernest Macke of Cape Girardeau, Clarence Macke of East St. Louis and Elmer and Robert Macke of Jackson. A son, Rudolph died in infancy. Two brothers are August Biester of Burfordville and Henry Biester of Jackson. There are fourteen grandchildren.
