Mrs. Mildred Bates

Services for Mrs. Mildred Irene Box Bates, who died at her residence near Stewart on May 2, were conducted at Milligan Springs Saturday afternoon, May 3 at three o'clock with the Rev. J. W. Nolen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Redel Poe, Leroy Poe, Lamar Fowler, J. L. Fowler, W. H. Austin and W. M. Tharpe.

Mrs. Bates was born at Stewart on January 8, 1903, and was married to the late Stanley Bates in 1927. She was a member of Reeds Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bernard Bates, Hamton, Fla. and Ernest Bates, Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Ava Fowler and Mrs. Lula Sellers, of Stewart; two brothers, Henry Box and J. D. Box, of Eupora, and five grandchildren.
