From the "History of Dane County, Wis-1880" in biographical sketches for Town of Medina I find a sketch for Philander PORTER. He was born in Onedia Co, NY, 11 Dec 1813; moved to Cattaraugus Co, NY when he 21 years old; moved in Medina, Dane Co, WI in May 1845. He married in Cattaraugus Co, 24 March 1839 to Aurilla PRENTICE, who was born in the town of Hanover, Chautauqua Co, NY, 29 Feb 1816; daughter of Salmon and Edna (SWEET) PRENTICE, natives of Vermont. Philander PORTER died 28 Sept 1874 in Medina.
The children for Philander and Aurella (Prentice) Porter were: Edna, who died at age 2 1/2 yrs and Mary Alalaide at 16 months, both prior to Sept1874. Surviving in 1880 were: Maria, wife of Rev.
