Barbara M. (Reynolds) Davis-Goodman, “Nah-Gon-Way-We-Dun” (loudest thunder), died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her home in Hinckley. She was 71 years old.
Barbara was born on August 15, 1946 in Cass Lake, MN to Richard and Lillian (Jackson) Reynolds. She loved playing bingo, doing beadwork, making regalia dancing outfits and moccasins. She was caring, giving, crazy, funny, strong and brave. She stood for those who couldn’t fight and for those she loved. She always spoke her mind. Always. Though she may be little, she is fierce!
With deep love and respect we send you home and are proud to have had you in our lives and to call you “mom”. Thank you so very much.
Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Smith; her step-father, Charles Joseph Smith; her father Richard Reynolds; her sister, Frances Staples; her brothers, Patrick Reynolds, Marlon Lucas; her nephews, Kristopher Lucas and Patrick “Poncho” LaDuke; and her niece, Cheryl Mishler.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Greg Davis and Kim Davis; her brothers and sisters, Bonita Lucas, Mary LaGuard, Sidney Lucas, George LaFave and Damon Smith; her grandchildren, Lacee Benjamin, Lillee Benjamin and Gavin Martin; and several others who called her mom and grandma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Aazhoomog Community Center with Lee Staples officiating. Visitation will begin at dusk on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 also at the center. Casketbearers are Tim Benjamin, Kevin Sutton, Zach Madsen, Brandon Benjamin, Dean Staples and Eli Staples.
