Another pioneer gone. On Tuesday, May 10, 1904 at 10:15 p.m. the spirit of Jos. Boesch took its departure to that home from which no traveler ever returns.

Mr. Boesch was born in German 51 years ago. He came to this country when seventeen years of age and worked in different places until 23 years ago when he bought the Boesch farm in Pine town, just outside the village limits, which he sold to Jos. O’Riley some three years ago and moved his family into town and purchased the old Jess Plummer house, south of the Catholic church where he died.

Mr. Boesch was married to Caroline Rath, a sister of H. J. Rath, 24 years ago, she going to her reward nine years ago the 16th of last March. Ten children were the result of this union, six of them preceded him. Those remaining are Anna, Mary, Joseph, of this place, and Mrs. Ed. G. Kruse of Wyoming. He also leaves a brother at Laramore,North Dakota besides numerous friends to mourn h is loss.

Mr. Boesch was a quiet, saving and hard working man, and was respected by all that knew him. He was of a retiring disposition and his friends were only limited by his acquaintances.

The funeral will be held from the German Lutheran church today at one o’clock, with interment in Birchwood cemetery by the side of his wife and children.
