Shirley Edna (Oslin) Davis was born at home in Whited Township in Kanabec County on September 3, 1929 to Edward and Susie (Mohrenweiser) Oslin. She attended District 65 County school and graduated from Mora High School in 1946, at the age of sixteen.

After graduation, Shirley worked at the Kanabec County Courthouse. She married Everett William Davis on January 16, 1949 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora. They resided in Mankato and Saint Paul before moving to Sandstone in 1961. She was employed for many years at the Agricultural Extension Office in Hinckley.

Shirley enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona with her husband as well as feeding and watching birds. She loved spending time and sharing a laugh with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Shirley passed away on May 5, 2017 at her home in Dell Grove Township. She was preceded in death by husband, Everett, parents, Ed and Susie Oslin, brother Duane Oslin, and grandson Ronald Davis.

She is survived by children Barbara (Paul) Bonstrom, Susan Ryan, Randy (Ruth) Davis, and Julie (Tad) Nordstrom. Thirteen grandchildren: Ryan, Hunter, Anna, Reid, Megan, Katie, Erik, Erin, Rissa, Peter, Cory, Kyle, and Paige and 27 great grandchildren; sister Dorothy Erickson, brother Rodney Oslin, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held for Shirley at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dell Grove with Rev. Kim Sturtz officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Dell Grove.
