Henry Mensing was born April 5, 1936 in West Concord, Minnesota. He was the third oldest of eight children born to Wilhelm and Dena (Bronner) Mensing.
When Henry reached the age of six the family moved to the Giese area where he resided most of his life. He loved the farm life, fishing and hunting. Henry attended school in McGrath and later worked in construction. He was working for his brother, Richard, Mensing Masonry when he had his stroke preventing him from further working.
Henry moved to Elderwood in Hinckley in 2013 where he passed away on April 6, 2017. He enjoyed sitting in the commons area and visiting with anyone who would take the time to talk. His buddy, Ben would watch out for him! Another good ole farm boy to talk to! Though Henry never married, he enjoyed visiting with his nieces and nephews.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Arlene; brothers, Walter, Lloyd; brother in law, Don Dirks; his nephews, Harold, Greg, Jim, and Jamie.
He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Dirks; his brothers, Lawrence, Richard (Beverly), William (Kathy); sister in laws, Betty Mensing and Pauline Mensing.
A memorial service is planned for Henry at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giese, MN. Visitation will be an hour before the memorial service at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at the cemetery in Giese.
