This is where Janet lived until she graduated from Hinckley High School. She was Hinckley High School’s Homecoming Queen in 1958 and also the class salutatorian.

In the fall of 1958 she was united in marriage to Fred Nyline, also of Hinckley. She then held teaching positions as North Winneshiek Schools in Decorah, and many years as a second trade teacher at St. Benedict’s School, also in Decorah, until her struggles with multiple sclerosis made it impossible for her to continue to teach.

She and Fred were able to spend several months of four different years living and traveling throughout Japan and much of the Orient.

In addition to being an outstanding teacher she had many and varied interests. Janet was an active collector of old glass and primitive furniture, which graced her home and table. She was a very find cook and a gracious hostess. At Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah, she was director of the young peoples groups for all of the years that her daughters were active in the church. Janet loved working with flowers and always had flowers in her home.
