Theresa Estella Brettingen of Mora, MN died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Kanabec Hospital. She was 90 years old.

She was born to Rudolph and Catherine (Ellens) Oosterhuis on February 4, 1914 at Hospers, Iowa. At the age of 18 she moved with her family to Ogilvie, MN. On October 31, 1937 she married Manferd Brettingen at Ogilvie. They first made their home in Mora; moving to Brook Park in 1947 when they purchased the local grocery store. During this time they raised their children and worked together operating the store. Later Theresa worked in the Brook Park Post Office, retiring in 1983 after 11 years of service. She was a member of Brook Park Methodist Church and was treasurer of that church for 13 years. In 1991 Theresa and Manferd moved back to Mora. After 56 years of marriage Manferd passed away in 1993. Theresa was a resident of the Villa Health Care Center at the time of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her her parents, husband Manferd; 12 year old sister Tina; and brothers Frank and Gerald Oosterhuis.

Theresa is survived by son Dr. Larry Brettingen of Mora; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Juan Stoleson of Minnetonka, MN; one brother Lloyd Oosterhuis and wife Iona of Cambridge, MN; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 24th at Mora United Methodist Church. Rev. Marvin Repinski officiated. Music was provided by Alexia Santele and Chuck Humphrey. Pallbearers were Theresa's grandchildren Craig Brettingen, Kirk Brettingen, Darin Brettingen, Chad Brettingen, Erik Stoleson and Michelle Wojcik. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora, MN. Arrangements were handled by Akkerman - Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.
