Lee Edward Hintz, died on Friday, June 23, 2006, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was 80 years old.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1919, in Bird Island, in Renville County, Minnesota to Carl and Ella Ida (Geier) Hintz. In 1926 they moved to Quamba.
He attended Quamba School. After that he farmed all of his life.
He was baptized in Quamba Baptist Church.
In his later years he joined Open Arms Church of God.
He was united in marriage on Jan. 9, 1943, to Marjorie Fern Hintz in Comfort Township.
The marriage ended in 1982.
He was later united in marriage to Kathleen Inez Pierce in Dec. 1983 at the Kanabec County Courthouse.
He enjoyed listening to music and also liked driving his car.
He loved working with machinery, but he especially enjoyed working with his dozer.
He is survived by sons, Wyman of Grasston, James (Cecilia) of Mora; daughters, Diane (Sheldon) Zellman of Mora, Cynthia Poundstone (Terrence Carlson) of Cambridge and Catherine (Keith) Peterson of Mora; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Wed. June 28, 2006, at Open Arms Church of God in Grasston with Pastor Mike Flynn officiating. Music for the service will be provided by Alen Godage.
Pallbearers are Pierce Bernecker, James Zellman, Sheldon Zellman Jr. Karl Poundstone, Travis Peterson and Tyrel Peterson.
Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
