Clay County Centennial Books

Community history books, such as bi-centennial or centennial books, are really great sources for genealogy research. I’m aware of three in Clay County. An index to one is posted on the MNGenWeb Clay County website and it contains many biographies for northern Clay County and southern Norman County early residents. I’m aware there is a book out on Glyndon and one on Hawley and I’m sure there are several more for Clay County communities. Do you hold one of them? We are looking for people who may be holding history books, or any other genealogy source, who would be willing to volunteer to do lookups for those who are researching their ancestors. It does not take a lot of time and it can be arranged for the researchers to contact you directly or through one person at MNGenWeb Clay County. Any other suggestions you may have, that our website could do to ease the free ancestor research in Clay County, would be greatly appreciated.
We just started an Open Group on Facebook page at - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1560176547601354/ . We are doing a lot of updating and adding to the website also and that is at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mnclay/ . Come visit us. Hopefully we can help you or perhaps you can help us.
Sincerely,
Mike Peterson
MNGenWeb Clay County Coordinator
