Union City; George Washington LOWE, 92, 103 Park St., died July 13, 1991, at the Branch County Community Health Center, Coldwater, following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 2, 1899, in Wartburg, Tenn., a son of John and Mary Ann LOWE.
On Jan. 2, 1941, he married Ada C. McGEE, in Bryan, Ohio.
He moved to Michigan when he was age 18 and he was a longtime Union City resident. For more than 17 years, he was employed at Star Mobile Home Company, retiring in 1967. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Esther AVERY, Assyria, and Rosie INMAN, Union City; two sons, Nelson L. LOWE, Kentwood, and Fred L. LOWE, Union City; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Flora RUSSELL, Kokoma, Ind., Rosie EVANS, Knoxville, Tenn., and Mrs. Glen HANNAH, Townsend, Tenn.
Relatives and friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the Spencer Funeral Home, Athens, where services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. L.K. Jewett will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Union City.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
