Sturgis; Michael LAWNICZAK, 69, 1428 S. Nottawa St., died Feb. 26, 1994, at the Sturgis Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1924, in Bronson Township, a son of Michael and Agnes (BIKOSKI) LAWNICZAK.

On Dec. 2, 1950, he married Lois Ann BORGERT, in Sturgis.

After their marriage, they lived in Kalamazoo, Milwaukee, Wis., and Marion, Ind., before returning to Sturgis in January 1994. He was a sales manager employed by S.C.M. Office Supply Company 32 years before his retirement in 1986. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theatre on Saipan and Okinawa. He was a member and past commander of the Neuman-Wenzel American Legion Post 73, past chief gare of the Voiture 545 Forty & Eight, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6728, Gas City, Ind. He graduated from Sturgis High School and also was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sturgis.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Cynthia ULDRIKS, Battle Creek; one son, Michael Alan LAWNICZAK, Sa??Mon, Calif.; two grandsons, Steven ULDRIKS and Michael E. LAWNICZAK; five sisters, Christian HUDSON, Kalamazoo, Vina HERMAN, Bronson, Virginia BLIGHTON, Palmetto, Fla., Phyllis RYNEX, Clearwater beach, Fla. and Evangeline CARLIN, Sturgis; one brother, Floyd VEASY, Sturgis; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Viola YESH and three brothers, Joseph, Edward and Marion.

Relatives and friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Rosenberg-Schipper Funeral Home, Sturgis, where the family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. today and the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today. The Funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. James Pearl officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis, with military honors being conferred by the Captain John J. Kelley VFW Post 1355, Sturgis.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Angels Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
