Early Parrs of Laurens

The following adult Parrs lived in Laurens by 1830.

John Parr Sr

No record has been located which explicitly identifies
John Parr Sr. His existence is assumed because numerous records identify
a John Parr Jr. as living in Laurens. But John Parr Sr may never have
lived in Laurens.

It is possible that the John Parr in the 1800 census of Laurens is John
Parr Sr and the J Parr of the 1810 census is John Parr Sr. Is the John R
Parr of the 1830 census John Parr Sr? This John R Parr does not appear
in any other records.

John Parr Jr

Birth Date: 1790/1791
Birth Place: New Jersey

Death Date: 15 Feb 1863
Death Place: Salamanca, Cattaraugus County, New York, USA

Burial Place: Lot 16, Crawform cemetery, West Salamanca, New York, USA

Father: John Parr Sr

Spouse: Lucy Harrington

John Morrell

Joseph Parr

Joseph Parr is only identified in land records. He jointly
owned land with John Parr Jr. The possible relationship between Joseph
and John Jr could be (1) father-son, (2) uncle-nephew or (3) siblings.
Two land records identify Joseph's Parr wife as Elizabeth/Betsy.

James Parr

Birth Date: 1799

Death Date: 24 Mar 1841

Burial Place: Lot 2, Section R, Village Cemetery, Laurens, New York

Spouse: Mary/Polly Foulston
Children: William
Probaly a daughter, Hannah

Amos Parr

Birth Date: 1807/1808
Birth Place: Otsego County, New York, USA

Death Date: 18 Apr 1887
Death Place: Sheridan, Chautauqua County, New York

Spouse: Grace
Children: John
Amos J

Aaron Parr

Aaron Parr is only identified in land records. In one of
these records he as identified as the brother of James Parr.

Are these Parrs all related, and if so, how?

James and Aaron are brothers. So far I have not been able to establish if or how the others are related. I have been able to track John Jr, James and Amos to their deaths, but Joseph and Aaron still remain largely unidentified. Joseph may have shifted to Prince Edward County in Upper Canada by about 1823. John Jr shifted to Cattaraugus County in the early 1830s and James remained in Laurens.

Does anyone have any relevant information? I would be really pleased to hear from you. I am the great, great grandson of Amos Parr.
