I was chasing a possibility that led to Drew Plantation in Penobscot County, when I found a book on Google that said five children and eventually a wife died somewhen around 1860. The father was Angus McKay, the mother was Emeline Ames, the children were Sarah, William A, Catharine, John, and Emeline A, according to the "History of Penobscot County, Maine" (p. 507). For most of a family to die around the same time suggests (to me, anyway) a disease. Anyone have a more definitive answer? Thanks.
