I've hit a few walls on this family, but here's what I know. Benadictine(Benedicta, Banna) Nagle b. 1840 in Austria married Henry? Kness in St. Thomas Catholic Church in 1858. They had three daughters: Catherine (Katie) b. 1867, Elizabeth(Lizzie) b.1864/5, Johanna(Anna) b. 1860, and Mary b. 1862. My ancestor, Elizabeth was supposed to have been born in Nestor. Somewhere along the line Henry Kness died. In 1870 the Kness daughters were living in the Hugh Brough household. By 1880, Benedictine had remarried to Julius Strickmiller(Stockemiller).
I'm lost on the Henry Kness family, and I'm wondering about the Austrian ancestry of Benedictine. Many Croatians were called Austrian at this time.
Also, Benedictine had a sister, Josephine b. 1830 Austria who married Rudolphe Waltzer, who was related to the Buras family.
Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I don't believe my Kness ancestors have any connection to the George Caspar Kness family.
