WE have determined it was Marksville

We just cant figure out why he enlisted in Marksville unless he was already in the service and reenlisted where they were stationed at when it came time for him to reenlist
He was in Co E of the 28th Tx Cav which was formed in Cherokee Co Tx that included soldiers from Shelby Co Tx according to the history of that Co.

I can not find him or his family in the year 1860 on the census records. But in 1850 and in 1870 they lived in Shelby Co Tx

William Daniel Mitchum/Michum my gggrandfather is also a indigent family member in Shelby Co Tx in 1865 and a tax payer in 1867 both in Shelby Co Tx

I believe they were still in Shelby Co Tx in the year 1860 however missed on the counting of the census

I know his sons future wives family resided in La in a different county in La but they meet in Limestone Co Tx as far as I can determine

Debra in Tx
