Raymond L. Caudell, 64, husband of Diane Young Caudell of Woodford County, Kentucky, died November 19 at his home. Born October 18, 1939, he was a son of Emily Caudell of Lexington and the late George Edward Caudell. Ray served three years in the U. S. Army. He was a police officer on the Fayette County Police Department 1965-1970. He conducted private invesigations until 1975 at which time he joined the Boynton Beach Police Department and retired as a Sergeant. He returned to Kentucky with his wife and daughter and established their home in Woodford County. In addition to his wife of 45 years and his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Carpenter and son-in-law, Steve Carpenter of Versailles; one brother, Lloyd Caudell of Lexington; four nephews, Lou Caudell of Bozeeman, MT, Scott Caudell of Boynton, Beach, Florida, Adam Caudell and Jimmy Mathis, both of Lexington; and great nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Megan, Aimee, Benjamin, Jonathan and Zachary. A sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Al Mathis and many friends, including a life long friend, Gene Gregory of Lexington, also survive. Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial service at Ray's home on Tuesday, November 5. Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
