Ex-Confederates of Hopkins County, Kentucky.
Hopkins county Ex-Confederate Vet. Association Camp 528, U.C.V.'s, met in Madisonville, Ky., Feb. 8, 1897,, Commander L.D. HOCKERSMITH presiding.
The association transacted some very important business of which the following is a part: Several names were added to our roll. All ex-Confederates who belong to the camp, or who may hereeafter become a member, are earnestly solicited to attend the "Nashville re-union of U.C.V.'s" to be held in Nashville, Tenn., June 22, 25, and 24, 1897.
Any member of this camp who feels himself unable to pay the traveling expenses, is requested to call on T.B. JONES and Thos. H. SMITH, Madisonville, Ky., who are authorized to make arrangements for the payment of such expenses for all worthy Comrades.
Under the head of good of the order , comrades H.R. BOURLAND, Jno. H. SHAW, Jas. B. HEAD and others made good and sensible speeches.
Commander HOCKERSMITH made an excellent closing speech, full of love and instruction.
