The Matthew who marries Elizabeth Sears in Whitley Co is son of Matthew and Susannah Kerr of Pulaski Co. Andrew is also son of Matthew and Susannah.

Pulaski Co Deed Bk 7-1, page 100, shows the disposition of Matthew and Susannah Kerr's land on Flat Lick Creek in Pulaski Co KY. In this deed, Susannah Kerr is named as the widow of Matthew Kerr, dec'd, and says she has since remarried to Thomas Garner. Children of Matthew and Susannah called out in this deed, and subseqent court records include -

William Kerr (probably the one who marries Rebecca Johnson in Knox Co KY in 1814)
Samuel Kerr who marries Easter Johnson - my line
Andrew Kerr who marries Virginia Jane Griffith
Harvey Kerr who marries Martha Jane Mayfield
John Kerr (a twin)who marries Elizabeth Provence
James Kerr (a twin) who marries Elizabeth __?__
Mathew Ervin Kerr who marries Elizabeth Sears
Jane Kerr, and I don't know who she married

Several years ago I was given the information that James Kerr and Ester Parker were the parents of Andrew and the rest of the bunch. However, I never could prove it and it drove me nuts - I never found a marriage record, wills, or land records that supported it. In looking for that, I stumbled across the Matthew and Susannah Kerr connection. I know it goes against what's showing on the boards here, and I hesitated to even post about Matthew and Susannah because of that. But, I chased James and Ester for so many years and got so frustrated, so I thought I'd go ahead and post what I had found on Matthew and Susannah.
