Homer E. Slaven, 76 of Beavercreek, OH passed away April 9, 2007 in his residence. Homer was born January 26, 1930 in Salyersville, KY, the son of the late Charlie and Margaret Lewis Slaven. Homer was retired from Greene Memorial Hospital after 23 years and was preceded in death by his son, Phillip William Slaven (1964), brothers Donald Ray and Clifford Slaven, sister, Carrie Ramey. Survivors include his wife, Loretta of 48 years, daughter Lynette Slaven, of Beavercreek, OH; sons Jeffrey Slaven of Cape Coral, FL and Douglas Slaven of Fairborn, OH; Grandson Phillip Marcus Slaven; Sister Tawanna Harruff of Celina, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. April 12, 2007 in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St., Fairborn, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m., April 13, 2007, with Dr. Stuart Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery.
