Joyce Murphy, 77, of Princeton, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 9 a.m. at her home, following a long illness.
Born Nov. 30, 1935, in Lyon County, a daughter of the late Henry Hudson “Preacher” and Sidney Jones Thompson, she was a homemaker and formerly the co-owner of Murphy’s R.V.s and Indiana Point R.V. Park and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Murphy.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Murphy; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney E. and Candy Murphy of Eddyville; five grandchildren, Mandy Thompson, Alicia Anderson, Nichole Patton, Megan Sholar and Collin Murphy; three sisters, June Johnston of Caldwell County, Janice Robertson of Lyon County and Geraldine Wynn of Livingston County; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating.
Burial will follow in Confederate Cemetery. (Lyon Co., Ky.)
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the funeral hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
