Looking for help in connecting my JOHNSON family.

I'd like some help in determining what Johnson family, from
NC and KY, my 4th gr-grandfather, Andrew Johnson, descends from.

Not sure if my ancestors are related to Thomas Johnson and
wife, Sarah Greenfield or some of the other Johnson families
that migrated from NC to KY in the early 1800's. There has
been speculation that our Andrew is a son of Thomas & Sarah.

Here's where I'm starting from: (verified bible records)
My gr-grandmother, Amanda JOHNSON b:1875 d:1967
..married William Edmond Bayes in 1894 in Johnson County, KY
..s/o Martin (John P. Martin) Bays & Sarah Catherine George

Amanda's father, Richard Epperson "Epp" JOHNSON b:1846 KY d:1909 KY
..married Lavina Preston in 1874 in Johnson County, KY
..d/o Eliphas Preston & Nancy Jane Grimm

Epp's father, Joseph JOHNSON b:1813 NC d:<1880 KY
..married Ellen Meek/Meeks in 1833 in Floyd County, KY
..d/o of James Meeks & Judith Hylton/Helton

Joseph's father, Andrew JOHNSON b:ca 1792 NC d: bet 1861-1869 KY
..married Martha ? (possibly CALL) around 1810 in NC

Andrew & Martha's children were:
Joseph 1813, Susan 1815, George 1822, John 1829,
Mahala J 1837, Martha A 1837, Isaac 1839, Margaret 1845

Other notes establishing residency in the area:
1844 Johnson Co., KY Tax List - Andrew
1844 Johnson Co., KY Tax List - Joseph
1850 Johnson Co., KY Census - Andrew & Martha
1850 Lawrence Co., KY Census - Joseph & Ellen
1860 Johnson Co., KY Census - Andrew & Martha

Amanda Johnson Bayes personally stated that she was raised
in Georges Creek, in Johnson County. Georges Creek also
extends into Lawrence County, nearby.

Floyd County was formed in 1800.
Lawrence County was formed in 1822 from parts of Floyd & Greenup.
Johnson County was formed in 1843 from parts of Floyd, Lawrence & Morgan.
Other Johnson names appearing in the region in the early 1800's:
(based on KY Land Grants & Census listings)

ANDREW Johnson, Lawrence Co, 1823, 1825 (Rockcastle R)
...* I am assuming that this is our Andrew, but uncertain

JESSE Johnson, Lawrence Co, 1827 (Big Blain Fork)
Phillip Johnson, Lawrence Co, 1827, 1828 (Big Blain Fork)
David Johnson, Lawrence Co, 1823
...*not sure who they are. Possibly related to Andrew?

PATRICK Johnson, Floyd Co 1810, 1816, 1817, 1820, 1821 (Rockhouse Fork & Slackey's Cr)
...*This is the Patrick Johnson married to Delilah Carter.
....Patrick born abt 1771 in NC, died 1855 KY
....Is this the son of Thomas & Sarah?

WILLIAM Johnson, Floyd Co 1810, 1816 (Carr's Fork)
...*Is this William a brother to Patrick? or a son? or father?
....Is this the son of Thomas & Sarah?

THOMAS Johnson, Floyd Co, 1810, 1816, 1820 (Carr's Fork)
...*Is this Thomas a brother to Patrick? or a son? or father?
....Is this the Thomas who married Sarah Greenfield?
....Is this the Thomas born abt 1785 NC, died 1828 KY?
....Or is this the son of Thomas & Sarah?

ANDREW Johnson, Floyd Co, 1810, 1820 (both censuses)
...*This can't be our Andrew, but how is he related?

Can anyone help me determine who is related to whom?

I've also seen these other families in NC:
. Thomas Johnson 1729-1786 & Rachel
. Thomas Johnson 1757 & Lucy
. Henry Johnson 1736-1815 & Rachel
. John Johnson 1755-1836 & Elizabeth
. Jeffrey Johnson 1722-1788 & ?

The given names are so similar between all these families,
that I've had a difficult time determining their lineages.

If anyone can give me some guidance, it would surely be appreciated.
