Hi
I see this post is very old but I just ran across it during a search. My name is Tom and I’m married to Cynthia ( cindy) Cindy’s grandfather was named William Bailey. He was the son of John and Mary Ipock and was adopted by a family named Bailey in northern area of Indiana He was supposed to have been from southern county of Kentucky. My guess is he was one of the 3 children you mentioned whose parents were killed in that fire. I never met William Bailey but my wife told me her grandfather was decended down from Native American. We recently did AncestryDNA test and I was surprised not to see Native American in her dna. I then googled all reasons why this could happen. It appears that maybe Cindy’s great grandfather might have been John guno ipock. so your great grandmother and my wife’s grandfather would have been brother and sister. William baileys obituary can be found if you google William bailey and ipock together
I think he is buried in New Richmond Indiana
In the local cemetery there. Also I came across a blog by William k Bailey who says he is named after his great grandfather William Bailey who claims pretty much the same lineage and story about the fire and the adoption. I’m going to try and respond to his blog somehow. William and June Bailey had several children(maybe 6) and they all grew up in that small town in new Richmond indiana
