Thomas Pierce Demaree was born the same of Samuel Demaree, Sr. in Henry County, Kentucky in 1853 and became the property of Samuel Demaree, Jr. after Samuel Demaree, Sr.'s death. Pierce as he was known remained with the Demaree family after the war, his relationship continuing until his death at an unknown date and location. Kitt or Kitty Blanton was also living with the Demaree's in 1870. He was living with this sister Sarah Agnes Hawkins, her husband Bob and their children, including son Cleveland in 1900 in Christiansburg. Pierce married Phoebe Rucker in 1901, daughter of Charles and Ann Rucker, former slaves of Elisha and Mary J. Rucker of Christiansburg, Shelby County, John Milton Demaree preformed the marriage. Prior to that he was married to Anna Bell by whom he had a son Jesse born about 1888. Jesse moved to Frankfort, Franklin Co, Kentucky by 1917 where Jesse was a boarder in the home of his aunt Sarah Agnes in 1920. By 1930 Pierce had moved to Franklin and he and Sarah were living together next to Martha Metcalf whose husband Charles was a relation of Sarah's who stated her parents were a Charles Metcalf and Jane Tutson or Hudson. Sarah died in 1937 and we loose tract of Pierce after that date, although members of the Demaree family in Henry said he lived to be 106 dying in 1960.

Jesse married Catherine Madison and they remained in Frankfort. Catherine had attended the Clinton School in 1920, their children, Lou Agnes, wife of Henry Thomas Cane, Abbie Hill of Tuscon, AZ, Robert J, deceased formerly of Tuscon, AZ, Katherine, deceased in Frankfort 16 Nov. 2008, wife of Joe T. Kane, and John a 1961 graduate of Frankfort, H. S. Jesse died in 1948, Catherine deceased by 1990, bur. Greenhill Cem., her funeral arranged by Robb. Undertakers. The family was very active in the First Baptist Church, attended Mayo-Underwood School where Robert was on the basketball team in 1951, and lived at 327 Dixie Street. Both Katherine and Abbie gave oral interviews for the Community Memories Project at the Kentucky Historical Society and several family photo's were donated.

I would very much like to find when Pierce died and his burial location as well as that of his wife Phoebe Rucker. Help would be appreciated.
