LOCKBOURNE: John E. Blanton, 67, of Lockbourne, Ohio passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 unexpectedly at Berger Hospital ER, Circleville, Ohio. (Pickaway County)
He was born September 19, 1946 in Amba, Kentucky to the late William and Edna Mae (Meade) Blanton.
John retired from Big Bear Bakery in Columbus, Ohio and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam in the 5 and 7 Special Forces Group.
Preceded by parents and brother, Walter Clay Blanton.
Survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria J. (Estep) Blanton; sons, John (Rhonda) Blanton of Stoutsville, OH and William "Bill" (Trish) Blanton of Ashville; daughter, Gabriella (Tomas) Delrosario of Ashville; sister, Madlynn (Jim) Adams of So. Bloomfield, OH; grandchildren, William F. II, Raven, Merinda, Dalton, Austin, John Blanton; special grandson, Jonathan Delrosario-Blanton; great grandson, William F. Blanton III; two nieces, Heather Reed and Tara (Chuck) Cookson; great nieces, Kennedy Cookson and Jaden Reed; great nephews, Cage Cookson, Conin Cookson, and Jacob Betts.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville with Pastor Tom Underwood officiating.
Burial will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery.
