Jessie Mae Coleman, 90, of Princeton, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at 2:08 a.m., at her home, following a short illness.

Born July 20, 1923, in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Etta McCaslin Riley.

She was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church, a retired boarder at Princeton Hosiery Mill, was former co-owner of Coleman Shoes in Princeton, and worked in Evansville, Ind., during WWII as a “Rosie the Riveter” at Servall Aircraft Factory, with her twin sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Coleman Jr.; her twin sister, Bessie Lee Jones; and two brothers, Francis Riley and Charles Riley.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Dana Coleman of Princeton; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Teddy Dycus of Chesterton, Ind.; five grandchildren, Danielle Dycus, Michelle Derochowski, Andrea Brumley, Allison Coleman and Abigail Coleman; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Derochowski and Sydney Derochowski.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)
