The Rev. James Cleveland Gray, 77, of Princeton, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 2:50 p.m. at Caldwell Medical Center Emergency Room, following a long illness.

Born April 20, 1935, in Caldwell County, a son of the late
James William “JW” and Ora Pearl Goodaker Gray, he was a retired pipe fitter at BF Goodrich and a retired pastor of Green Hill Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Ladd Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen Kidd Trader Gray; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Vickie Gray of Princeton; and daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Michael Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo; two stepsons and wives, Gordon L. Trader and Mi Young of Clarksville, Tenn., and Brian and Doreen Trader of Germany; a stepdaughter and husband, Amber Trader and Eric Grimes of Freemont, Neb.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers and wives, Louard and Betty Gray of Caldwell County, Murl and Mary Gray of Morgantown, and Gary and Barbara Gray of Princeton; four sisters and husbands, Margaret Smith and Brenda and Roger Joyce, all of Princeton, JoAnn Sullivan of Lyon County, and Connie and Danny Joyce of Caldwell County; an aunt, Ethel Crowder of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Harold Greenfield officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
