Wiley Delawson, 85, of Princeton, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at 10:20 a.m. at Baptist Health in Madisonville, following a long illness.

Born March 23, 1927, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Wade and Ethel Oliver Delawson, he was a retired truck driver for Smith Coal Co., a World War II Army veteran, member of Wallonia Christian Church, VFW Post 5595 and American Legion Post 116.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Simpson Delawson; three brothers, Jewell Delawson,Gene Delawson and Orbie Delawson; and a sister, Susiebelle Oliver.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Paula and Harold Massey of Caldwell County, Sandy and Ronnie Sivells and Susan Delawson, all of Princeton, and Shirley Hargrove of Clermont, Fla.; six grandchildren, Michelle Sivells, Amy Gibson, Chris Sivells, Mike Melton, Melissa Chaney and Hiler Hargrove; 10 great-grandchildren, Leesha Jesko, Payton Plain, Clint Sivells, Cabbott Sivells, Chase Kessler, Bret Archbell, Justin Phelps, Chancie Chaney, Libby Melton and Jakeb Melton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Billy Joe Nichols and the Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)

Pallbearers are Billy Mitchell, Bennie Mashburn, James Butts, Creed Thurman, Tommy Dixon and Bill Robertson.

Honorary bearers are his grandsons and great-grandsons.
